If New Yorkers are looking for a secular set of thrift stores to donate their stuff/money to, they could do a lot worse than Housing Works.

We usually take our shit to Goodwill, though there was one time we gave a box of military uniforms that didn't fit us to the Salvation Army because we were moving and we just had to get rid of some shit that wouldn't fit in the car asap.

The people who work there are probably just wearing them with new cross patches on the arm feeling really cool right about now.
