My family a few years back had to dramatically reduce the amount of salt in our diet (my grandma has hypertension). It was pretty much the best thing we ever did for our health. I don't even miss processed food anymore because fresh is a billion times better.

back when i was a teen, my father was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure and it was GOODBYE SALT in my house. i missed it soooooo much but i noticed that i always forget to salt my food while cooking and i never really mind it. a little salt goes a long way when your tastebuds readjust.

We phased salt back into our food, but in moderation. Avoiding salt when you eat out is so hard though.

That happened with my family too. My grandma moved in (she had a stroke and couldn't live on her own anymore) and so we started eating a lot less processed stuff and making things from scratch.

I know! I use aminos now- it's a vegetable salt. Most of the junk food and meat cravings I had were just salt cravings.

Yeah, we had same thing. the most annoying things was soup. i love soup... but most of them were LOADED with salt. So I end up making a lot from scratch and then freezing the leftovers in dinner size portions. I just froze a big batch of a southern BBQ vegetable soup last night.
