Patio chairs are often decorated with lit molotov cocktails in Florida. Didn't you know?

Uh. You can really hurt someone throwing a freaking patio chair at them. 9 year olds aren't /small/ or weak. Especially not if the thing comes through a glass window. Asphalt isn't exactly soft either.

That said, I think something serious is going on at the girl's home or with the girl herself and she needs something besides jail.

I know that thrown things can injure people. ~Deadly missile~ is still overkill, and I have never seen a non-old-timey bus that has windows made of actual glass.

Even the old-timey buses were required to have safety glass in all the windows. It prevents kids getting thrown out in case of accidents.

What's below deadly missile? I think you /can/ kill someone with rocks (And heck, a rock is always a handy weapon) and a chair pretty easily. Granted, if it's a cheesy plastic Wally world chair...

And yeah, all the buses to my memory had safety glass. The legal language is a bit weird and it seems like there's 'ehn' and "OH GOD EVERYONE IS GONNA DIE" with not much in the middle.

Also, to add to my edit, just slapping her with a felony and all over the internet... is about the worst thing they can do. :| I thought generally information on juveniles wasn't put up on the internet?

If the rock had hit a kid on the bus it could have killed them.

That kid needs a lot of help. Jail time? No. A full psychiatric evaluation would be a good start. Too many parents are in denial about their little darlings. Have you seen some of the 9-year-olds out there? They're huge. I wouldn't want them throwing rocks or chairs at me, regardless of their age. They can't just write this one off to youth.

Obviously, but the legal language is a comparatively huge overstatement relative to what actually happened.

It seems at one point an orange was considered a deadly missile in Florida. It was overturned.
