To me, it only highlights the importance of teaching Black History to everyone. Too many people don't know much about the Civil Rights Movement outside of MLK Jr., Malcolm X Rosa Parker and MAYBE Medgar Evars. Not a lot of them know about the frameworkers of the movement and such.

I'm not surprised about Jobs getting more comments because he had more visibility than Shuttlesworth did, unfortunately.

I came here to comment that I wish the history of the civil rights movement was taught differently. So much of it is made about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his contributions that people neglect all of the other civil rights leaders who were involved in the effort, not to mention the folks on the ground who made it work. We never heard about Shuttlesworth, and rarely hear about Abernathy, Evers, Malcolm X, and other leaders - much less black women who took places in the CRM - because MLK's legacy is allowed to eclipse them all. He's important, but he's not the only important person to do anything in the CRM.
