It definitely says a lot, not only about him, but about everyone who went along with him. In my opinion, that's the problem with religion, Christianity in particular (I should disclaim this by saying I have no problem with any religion, and that people can believe whatever they want; I don't really care); nowadays, people claim that they're walking in "God's footsteps," but they aren't. They're walking their own path, and claiming it's "God's way." I mean, believe what you want, but don't act in ways that are clearly not the ways of God, and then try to foist your bad behavior on Christianity and make actual Christians look bad. That bugs the shit out of me.

I'm not a Christian anymore for those exact reasons; growing up, that's what I saw, and realized, "If this is what being a Christian is about, then fuck it, I don't want it." It makes religion look bad, it makes the "real Christians' (in quotes because that's a personal thing, and no one can tell you what you don't believe) angry, and besides that, it's just bad behavior. Don't hate in the name of a deity that is supposed to be all about love, and act like it's ok.

That's why him saying that really stuck out to me as a sort of a-ha moment. He admitted his true intentions, whether he meant to or not. And yet, people are still going to look at him and think "he's a man of God, therefore, ~he can do no wrong~ nor can he twist things to meet his own moral agenda." Ugh.

/rant over. Sorry, I'm spinning out there. >_>
