Do you think he wants to be a policeman when he grows up?

Young Tory broke into a police station and stole inspector's uniform
Joshua Bonehill-Paine, a prospective Tory councillor, broke into a police station using his Conservative Party membership card and stole an inspector's uniform.

Joshua Bonehill-Paine, 18, who admits being drunk at the time, said he took the outfit - which included body armour, baton and handcuffs - to keep warm and for protection from local youths.

The former public school boy popped into the station in the middle of the night and asked officers for a lift home after being thrown out of his hotel and chased by "yobs".

The officers refused, but when the police left for a patrol the young Tory supporter broke into the station's uniform store using his Conservative Party card to flick the lock.

Bonehill-Paine then tauntedofficers when they returned by chanting "your security is sh*t" - before he assaulted them when they tried to arrest him.

He was given a community order at Yeovil Magistrates Court after admitting burglary and assault.

The court heard Bonehill-Paine turned up at the station in Chard, Somerset drunk at around 2am on March 11.

He told the officer on duty he had been thrown out of the nearby Phoenix Hotel and wanted a lift home to Yeovil.

The officer told him he could not take him home but made him a cup of tea and then ordered him out and locked the door after he left.

But Bonehill-Paine, who used to run a music management company, flicked the lock with his plastic Conservative Party card and helped himself to the uniform.

Later, at around 3.20am, Pc Matthew Turner saw Bonehill-Paine standing near the station wearing a police-issue outfit.
Recognising he was not the inspector, Pc Turner asked where he got the uniform.

Bonehill-Paine pointed towards the police station and said: "Do you know how I got in? "Your security is sh*t. I got in with my card."
He then kicked out when efforts were made to arrest him, assaulting two officers in the process.

Christine Hart, prosecuting, told the court: "He slid the card down in the door and it opened. There was no damage to the lock or the door.
"He went in firstly for the warmth and hoped to find a jacket. He said he had every intention to bring the clothes back in the morning."

Magistrates sentenced Bonehill-Paine to a 12-month community order - including 100 hours of unpaid work and supervision by the probation service.

Speaking after the case, Bonehill-Paine admitted he had drunk a bottle of whisky after failing to win a place on the South Somerset District Council.

"It is all a bit embarrassing for everyone," he said.

"I know I did wrong. It was a drink related thing. But I could not believe how easy it was for me to break into the police station."

A spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "This was an isolated incident and the offender was apprehended very quickly.
"Security is always paramount at all of our stations across the force area. A full investigation took place immediately and security was reviewed."

I thought this was somewhat amusing, and for all the failures of the police recently, it must be remembered that they do have to deal with a lot of idiots like this one. I particularly love his sense of entitlement and attempts to excuse his behaviour by trying to put the blame on the Police station's security. Tosser.
