If you search the story on Google News, they show upon the search. I wish they didn't appear that soon because it was too graphic to view the after picture.

My thought process: "How bad could they possibly be? Of course I will not heed fornikate's warning. In fact, I think I will Google this right now in the middle of--OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!"

I hope those officers are charged with murder. Holy shit.

Every one of those policemen should be charged with MURDER. They murdered Kelly Thomas whose only crime was being homeless. Damn this makes me so angry! I'm glad that the community is standing up against the TPTB, I'll be interested to see how far they get.

What cruelty and incompetence. My uncle is a cop and he deals with homeless, addicts, etc. and he says that the trick is to never lose your cool and your professionalism. I hope that Mr. Thomas's father can find some shred of justice.

Isn't Fullerton is where the bad cop (cop using too much force) stories happen? Or am I thinking somewhere else?

But, poor guy. Apparently, he was mentally disabled but it doesn't give police no right to do this much force; to beat someone down because he committed a petty crime. This shows how cops are under-educated about people like this guy.

imo, they should be even more delicate about handling someone with mental disabilities as opposed to a normal functional adult.

He was taken off life support and died five days later.

I suppose its normal to take people who are still strong enough to survive five more days off life support, right? I mean, I'm sure that it don't have a thing to do with the fact that he was homeless and there was no way he'd have ever been able to pay his bill.

Good question. IDK, but I think his father would have had to have Ok'd this.

I thought it was pretty normal for people on life support to still carry on for a few days before they officially died?

But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if half the reason was because he couldn't pay his bill. Keeping someone on life support is expensive.

I've seen someone whose brain stem was destroyed (and therefore shoudn't have been able to breathe independently at all) survive 2 weeks after being taken off the ventilator. And lots of families who agonize over the decision to take a loved one off life support get frustrated when the patient is still lingering days later, because at that point they know what the outcome is going to be and they want closure. Patients often survive longer than expected.
