watch Derek Jacobi in 'Breaking the Code' play about Turing and how he was forced female hormones instead of prison... Yet he was a major reason how we won the battle of Britain (he invented the machine that broke the enigma code and often thought to be the beginning of modern computers). I live not far form Bletchley Park where it all happened and mean to go this summer.

Did you see that I commented in a recent post about his being the first famous figure I recall learning was gay? And I was 19. And I had to learn it from a play I took myself to.
