His point is that osteoporosis isn't a lack of calcium but bone loss which is caused by many factors. As for dairy increasing the risk of osteo, maybe he means that people stop there since broccoli doesn't have a marketing campaign. :)

Damn it, I do not like broccoli. It looks like a cauliflower that isn't ripe/someone made a mistake!!! I will eat another vegetable with similar properties, tho

Strength training should also be mandatory for women over 40. It definitely helps with bone mass.

Well, I' hardly an expert on this, just studying it, but I'm learning that fermentation has amazing effects on food and its healthfulness- and I believe that includes cheeses. The fermentation helps partially 'digest' the more difficult compounds of some foods.

My brother-in-law is lactose intolerant and that doesn't stop him!

Of course,my 4 year old calls him "Uncle Fart" as a result...
