"The piece has been edited to read as follows: “He is famous for riding from Boston to Lexington, Massachusetts with William Dawes on the night of April 18, 1775 ringing bells to warn the British that colonists would exercise their natural rights to both bear arms and use them in an effort secede from the United Kingdom in response to Big Government bullying and interfering with Colony’s Rights.”"

Ugh. Fuck Paul Revere. I'll be over here respecting the hell out of Sybil Ludington instead.

IAWTC. I'm sure Palin has never heard of her and wouldn't believe it if she were told.

OMG I'd never heard of her. What a badass and how disgusting that a man doing half what she did is so well known.

OT but, why is it called the “Streisand Effect”? Anyone know?

Thank you! I figured it was named after Barbra Streisand, but had no idea about this whole thing.

Best Trolling Evar.

And wasn't there an incident a few years ago during the 08 campaign where Palin said something and people tried cover her ass by editing the wikipedia subject *scratches head* This feels like a direct response to that. Whomever is adding her version of The Ride is calling back to that kind of thing. It's brilliant.

The fact that they are editing Wikipedia is just comical to me; you'd have to edit a whole lot more than an online editable encyclopedia to make anything Palin says about history correct.

Particularly since there's a cadre of Wikiwonks who are quite willing and able to *edit it back*.
