Obviously this is awful but I'm just completely boggled that they even felt the need to do this in the first place. Arizona I can understand, but do Utah and Georgia even HAVE big enough problems with undocumented immigrants that this is a concern? Like, really? It feels like selling tsunami insurance to Nebraskans.

[Edit] That is, Arizona I can understand being concerned about illegal immigration, not passing legislation as stupid as this. Felt I should clarify that.

Dalton, GA has a very high immigrant population. That said, this legislation is so incredibly stupid.

Yeah but like, legal immigrants or...? I'm just having a hard time believing there's enough undocumented folks IN GEORGIA that this is a legitimate concern for the state at large.

Maybe because I'm Californian and my idea of illegal immigrants is people who hop the Mexican border.

But even if it was a legit concern, this is the wrongest wrong way to tackle it.
