Bachmann uses Holocaust to illustrate tax point

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann on Saturday described the loss of "economic liberty" that young Americans face today as a "flash point of history" in which the younger generation will ask what their elders did to stop it.

In a speech to New Hampshire Republicans, Bachmann recounted learning about a horrific time in history as a child - the ( Read more... )

the next generation will ask similar questions about what their elders did to prevent them from facing a huge tax burden.

"Grandpa, tell me again about the time when ebil liburals used to tyrannize the people with taxes and used to send them to Income Tax Camps."

seriously, what else is new...

She frustrates me so much. I'm now not allowed to criticize her on our family email list b/c she is RELATED TO US BY MARRIAGE.

I ignored that last month and got yelled at, and finally said "look, I didn't marry her! So I'm not counting her as family!"

I just wanna weep for my family.

But only to say, we are seeing eclipsed in front of our eyes a similar death and a similar taking away.

This is just equal parts offensive and stupid. OH MY GOD SHUT UP.

You know, she has a great point. We are seeing our economic opportunities disappear, and we should fight the older generation on it, tooth and nail. We'll start with bringing jobs back to this country and better regulation and -

The generation of Americans just entering the work force now could eventually see 75 percent of their earnings sucked up by income taxes, Social Security and Medicare

BAHAHAHAHAHA. OMG. AHAHAHAHA. Yeah. That's if people can get jobs that put us above the poverty line. But Bachman's pretty set in making sure that never happens, so it's a moot point. Oh wait, maybe that's the Republican plan to save the average American from taxes? To keep them so poor they don't have to pay them. Genius!

And seriously, so damn telling about who she's talking about, because the only people who paid 75% on income taxes were the top bracket.

/ignoring the whole Holocaust point because it's just too infuriatingly stupid to comment on
