"President Obama moved forward without Congress approving. He didn't have Congressional authorization, he has gone against the Constitution, and that's got to be said," Dem. Rep. Kucinich told Raw Story on Monday. "It's not even disputable, this isn't even a close question. Such an action -- that involves putting America's service men and women into harm's way, whether they're in the Air Force or the Navy -- is a grave decision that cannot be made by the president alone."
Obama in 2007: "The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation."
"So what the president did is, by own words, outside the Constitution," said Dennis Kucinich Monday, "This isn't a case of him not knowing. He knows clearly that he has not complied with the Constitution."
Ron Paul and Ralph Nader clearly agree. In a video posted Friday to YouTube, Paul called the no-fly zone "an act of war" that's illegitimate without Congress's approval.
"Why don't we say what's on the minds of many legal experts; that the Obama administration is committing war crimes and if Bush should have been impeached, Obama should be impeached,"
Nader told Democracy Now! Thursday.
