Thanks for this post!

I'm so excited that it's my day off. I'm glued to the AJE live stream. I've been woefully out of the loop on this.

I am simultaneously happy and afraid for the people of Egypt. I can only imagine what they're feeling right now.

Afraid?

There is nothing to be afraid of.

The looting has stopped (it was mainly the police/security forces anyways). The people have banned together and are protecting their neighborhoods and important sites.

The Army WILL NOT violently crackdown on the protesters. This won't be like Iran. The world governments have in essence ordered the Egyptian government to not crack down or harm the protesters.

The Army is considered the people's army and if such a order was given it is believed that the army will be split with the higher ups trying to follow through and the 'grunts' rebelling.

Without a crackdown the protesters will eventually succeed.

The only problem now is food.

But how many people were hurt/killed before the army stepped down? Wasn't there a few sniper shots?
