but at the same time, when publishers take on big name "celebrity authors," (from O'Donnell to Lauren Conrad or Hilary Duff) they're guaranteed to make a lot of money from the books, which of course leaves the more room for them to gamble and take a chance on new/debut/unknown authors. So in a roundabout way, shit like this is good for the unpublished/wannabe published masses
