You have to be approved for an organ transplant first. I think that is more of a "death panel", and they existed before "Obamacare".

I think the thing is, these are all patients that were told they were getting an organ, and then it's been rescinded

Oh, I understand that. But what I'm saying is the mythical "death panels" a lot of people were referring to during the debate on the health care bill already existed through the transplant system and their board. This reversal is just a new brand of BS.

Unless people have a loved one in that state, they may ignore it because they don't think it affects them. That's not being "stupid", that's just being apathetic. Unfortunately, this could end up playing out in a lot of states that would rather trim the fat from programs that are necessary rather than programs that are duplicative or overspending.

Except that those panels are for deciding who would benefit the most from the resources (organs) available. These are for "who will we kill to save money?".
