Hee, I love Lord Ganesh. My mom's a strong devotee of his and ever since I was a kid I would feel calm just looking at him. I sadly mixed up when his birthday was supposed to be and wasn't vegetarian on the right day. >< I'm sure it's the thought that counts but still.
Yesterday was also Saraswati Puja, the last day of a festival celebrating Saraswati, the goddess of learning, music and the arts and one of my personal goddesses. =3
I think it's because I've known her since I was a child that I feel comfortable with her. I'm this weird blend of agnostic and Hindu but when I think of Kali I think of a fierce, beautiful goddess who shouldn't be trifled with but who will also always take care of her children.
That's kinda how I feel about The Morrigan. I know that she and all her aspects are powerful and never to be taken at all lightly. But I also know if I call on her strength that she will give it to me in very tough circumstances.
I try approach the Vedic gods with great humility and respect as a foreigner to them. It's probably one of the reasons I fear Kali.
I understand that, I think that Kali demands only love and respect which are two things I can freely give her. Durga is strong but disciplined, Parvati sweet and firm, but to me Kali is wild, strength that can only be conquered by her will. I like it, it gives me strength as well.
