Serb anti-gay protesters attack political party offices

Serbian police have clashed with protesters trying to disrupt a Gay Pride parade in the capital, Belgrade.

Police used tear gas against the rioters, who threw petrol bombs and stones at armed officers and tried to break through the security cordon for the march.

The protesters then set fire to the garage of the ruling Democratic Party's headquaters.

Well, as my Serbian friend pointed out it is a move forward, b/c at least this time the police were not involved in beating people at the pride... :X

Whenever I hear "I have nothing against gays... I just don't see why they need to "parade" and provoke. You don't see us parading just because we're straight!" I want to punch that person sooooo bad!

My professor who is Serbian (and was there is 2001) was making the same comments on facebook this morning.
