Law enforcement definitely underestimates just how serious rape cases are just as they do pedophilia. A lot of these culprits cannot be helped so the fact that the majority of them get nothing more than a slap on the wrist is sickening. They may have not killed their victim but the victim may have very well lost their life in another sense. These culprits need maximum sentences that are comparable to murderers IMO.
A close friend of mind was roofied & assaulted at a dance club. The detective assigned to her case decided that since she'd had a drink, she deserved it, and "I don't understand why you reported this."
Are Police Departments Underestimating Rape Cases?
Um ... duh?
This couldn't *possibly* have anything to do with the fact that the first thing people do when a woman gets raped is ask, "Well ... did you do something to deserve it?", and the second is wonder if they're making it up, I'm sure.
Tracy told Senators today that police departments in several big cities, including St. Louis, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Cleveland and New York are employing similar tactics "to sweep reports of rape under the rug."
All I have to say to this is "fuck you, motherfuckers".
