bills like this make me want to tear my hair out. But we all have extremists. I don't see this being passed.

Unfortunately, in the West, those extremists largely don't have a state sponsorship.

I've noticed in the West it tends to be that moderates are in secular power, whereas in Israel it's the far far far right that does.

Let's see. In the US, there's never been a president that isn't Christian and doesn't mentioned God in his speeches. In Israel, there has never been a religious prime minister.

We've had a president that wasn't Christian-- his name was Thomas Jefferson. And I'm certain there were others, but they were mostly early presidents.

Unfortunately, if Texas has its way, Thomas Jefferson's being written out of our history.

Well, I'm not sure if Sharon counts as extreme right wing. At least towards the end, he did several not-very-right-wing things, like go against settlements.

And there are a lot of Netanyahu supporters for economic reasons rather than political.

But they do both kind of count.
