LOL. I once got religion-jacked at that particular Scientology church once- came out of the Tube and there was a woman with a badge that said Oxford on it doing a poll, and next thing I knew I had been swept inside to have my life's meaning told to me.

(Dixon, *I* knew there was a church there, and I live in ATLANTA. Cardiff is a hell of a lot closer to be informed on these matters.)

I think this was either the personality test or the preliminary to such a thing. They led me downstairs and tried to get me to sit and watch a video so I faked a phone call and said I had to go to an appointment I was already late for.

But yes, their conclusion was that I need Scientology. :P

I wonder if they still use that tactic? Oxford will happily become very litigious over that kind of misrepresentation.

Ooh really? This was about two years ago so I don't know if they still do. Somebody in London, walk out of Goodge Street station in the afternoon a few times and tell us what happens!

In seven weeks of going in and out of Goodge Street at least twice a day (up until a little over a week ago), I never saw them trying to associate themselves with Oxford, with nametags or otherwise. They just had plain IDs and suits and a table full of Dianetics crap in various languages, so I wonder if they were threatened about the Oxford thing.

It's called the Oxford Personality test because it used to be the Oklahoma test but that sounded less sciencey.

They don't claim to be affiliated with the university. They just call it the "Oxford personality test" or something similar. When questioned on it, I think they said that it had to do with the city, not the school.

And yes, they still use it. I took that test two years ago, or so.

I just left a little over a week ago and I never once saw them advertising or displaying anything to do with Oxford. It doesn't mean they don't still use the test, but they certainly weren't trying to pass themselves off as anything but creepers in well-pressed suits.
