Dammit - I saw part of this movie on TV as a kid, and it scared the shit out of me. I have yet to man up and Netflix it. How will I know which version is correct?

The bizarre thing about this movie is that a lot of the creepier parts really mirror modern day life, when this film was made in 1985. Its a nightmarish parable about what could be, but it has already happened.
