It wasn't until I got into still-running manga that I discovered scanlations. I hated the huuuuge lag between Jp and American publishing.

Inuyasha is currently about three years behind, I think. The series has been finished since June 2008 and Viz still hasn't released past volume 47 (the series ended at 55). US release schedules of manga irritates me to no end. There's no reason to wait three months between releasing manga volumes that have been available for several years.

this is why scanlations have spoiled me-- I remember thinking waiting two days after the Japanese chapter release was too long, lol.
