But Irish people aren't more likely to have red hair, Scandinavians are.

Also, WHAT A FUCKING MORON

That actually makes sense since the Vikings ransacked Ireland...

I thought Scotland had the highest redheads to population ratio...I must be misinformed.

That one I did know about, but I didn't know about Ireland!

Seriously. Do people know nothing of the history of why Irish people have red hair!?

Celts do have red hair, and are taller, but not all Irish people are 100% Celts...

Scandinavians have red hair because they are awesome also. :D

I think there have been genetic studies to show that quite a bit of the red hair comes from elsewhere in Northern Europe, and that a very small percentage of Irish people have red hair. It's something like 10%.

But 10% red hair is actually one of the highest percentages in the world: according to wikipedia (yes, I know it's not always reliable, but it's the fastest reference I can find, and matches what I've seen elsewhere) the highest percentage is among Scots at 13%, Ireland has 10%, and the general European population 4%. Scandinavians seem to be somewhere between 4% and 10% - the idea that the Scots and Irish got it from the Vikings seems to be one of those ideas that floats around without any hard-and-fast evidence.

Like I said, genetic tests have been done, and a lot of Irish people have their origins from Iberia, which is near Spain.

Well, yes, if you track back, Ireland was originally settled from elsewhere. But the Iberian settlers (from what is now Spain and Portugal), appear to have arrived about 4000 BC, while the Vikings were from Scandinavia, and arrived about 800 AD, so there's no connection.
