Yeah, Obama, you make a lot of pledges. How many of those have you taken a strong position on and/or worked on significantly since coming into office?

Quite a lot, actually.

It's fine.

I think one just has to realize that he is still bound by politics. Getting things done sometimes means getting things done quietly, or getting things done carefully. And for that I happen I think sometimes he has to take a position on things that just isn't as strong as we like. I'd love to see him smack down these asshats for abortion and LGBT rights and everything else, but sometimes the truth is that doing that will actually impede progress.

I think people sometimes don't understand how incremental change works. You do one thing, it's not *exactly* what you wanted, it may even be not even *half* of what you wanted, but it's a step. and then you take another step.

You don't get to jump from one end of the field to the other.

Seriously.

It really annoys me when people beat up on Obama for not being "good" enough.

Yes, he's imperfect. Yes, he hasn't met expectations. But you know what?

I would much rather have Obama not meeting expectations than McCain/Palin knocking right-wing expectations out of the park. Y'know?
