I really hope this is not going to be a total disaster.
Then again I was also hoping the Pirates would win at least 5%...

As people on my flist have already pointed out: Now we have a female Chancellor (again) plus a gay Vice Chancellor - but it's still a conservative government.

Totally agreed!

But our government isn't called conservative because of its social politics, and I think that's a rather important difference.

Oh, YES, that's not what I meant.
Of course German conservatism =/= US conservatism. Far from it.
Still, when it comes to the definition of family and suchlike the dinosaurs are still making the rules.
Uh well, let's see how Guido Westerwelle will do. After crying about the government for ages it will be interesting to see him actually do some governing himself. ;-)

Now I'm just waiting for the nice people that will declare sexism and homophobia over, just like racism magically went away when Obama was elected. *eyeroll*

Naw, won't happen.
We may be silly in a lot of ways, but I just cannot imagine anyone declaring this.
Not even right-wing nuts.

(You can, of course, always come back here and laugh at me if it happens anyway. ^^)

I actually meant RL nuts.
(Because I strongly believe German right-wingers with this sort of view don't know what the internet is.) ;-)
