yeah, that and penn and teller's episode on the death penalty. both are highly sobering.

Serial killers are the only criminals I could ever maybe feel morally justified in supporting the death penalty for, but yeah, still, right now, there's too much risk for us to allow the death penalty to happen.

I don't understand that, at least when it extends to punishment. In my gut, watching violence against the disabled or homeless, for example, makes me slightly more sick. But any murder is awful, regardless of age or ability or whatever; all their lives are worth the same in the end.

Immoral is an understatement. It always astounds me how the US is the only so called "civilised western country" to still have the death penalty. I'm glad it went out here many, many years ago.
