San Antonio, Texas loves you all for buying Toyotas...not that we are in as big a ditch as Detroit but they thank you anyways.

A lot of people forget that the 4 foreign companies are only called that because the headquarters is in a foreign nation...the parts are made here, the cars are made here, the employees are mostly Americans (hell I remember when I living in SA and they were asking us in our Japanese class to try out for a job to be a translator), the dealers are American, and they will ALL spend their money in AMERICA!!!

seriously...people bitching about Obama drinking a bud because it's now a foreign company? We can buy it out again...maybe. Still it's an AMERICAN DRINK!

...apologies for bitching.

Re: Bud. It absolutely is an American drink. If the Czechs tasted what had become of their namesake I think they would sue everyone. :P

Ah.

Didn't know that.

Weiser used to be how my family spelt their name until a century and a half ago? So I thought it was just named after someone.

So you saying the American Beer version is crappier in taste than the Czech's?

*doesn't really care since she doesn't drink and is just curious*

I'm not entirely sure how the US Budweiser came about; I don't know if it was just a using of the name, or bringing the Budweiser here and then bought it out for the American sector so they could do to it what they wanted, blah blah.

All I know is that US Budweiser is utterly embarrassing in comparison to the Budweiser you'll get that actually comes out of the Czech Republic. XD

I'm not sure. They were asking back in 2006 when the plant was being built.

I no longer live in San Antonio. I was just mentioning that these plants are in the US so it's still technically us made. It's just the company headquarters is based in Japan.
