I can see where they're coming from here--tylenol is pretty harmful, especially if you drink a lot of alcohol. IIRC, that was the whole point of putting acetaminophen in vicodin/percocet--to limit the amount people can take. Problem is, a lot of people aren't aware of the toxicity so they're unintentionally killing their livers. On the other hand...NOOO NOT VICODIN! Aren't there hydrocodone formulations with another painkiller besides acetaminophen? I can't remember.
This is what really has me WTFing: they say that Tylenol is the safest pain reliever for pregnant women to take. If it's so dangerous, WHY do they encourage pregnant ladies to take it?? I would never touch Tylenol if I wasn't pregnant. (It never works for me anyway. I always wind up giving in and taking Aleve after the Tylenol fails to work.)
That's a bunch of crap. When I had my surgeries, Vicodin pretty much saved my life. And Extra Strength Tylenol is the only kind strong enough to make my headaches go away, and that's if they aren't bad ones.
After I had my first kid, they gave me a scrip for Tylenol 3 to deal with the vag pain, saying it was safe for breastfeeding moms. If Tylenol is bad now, what will I take after kid #2 rips her way out?? D:

But as someone who absolutely cannot take ibuprofen or any NSAIDS, the FDA can die in a fire.
