My friend still is and I honestly don't get it. I thought the only thing they said was that they were ashamed Bush was from Texas, which . . . isn't controversial to me at all.

That's it, right? Or am I missing something?

LOL, he may have been born there, but he spent his childhood in Texas until high school, and then soon after joined the Texas National Guard. He's lived most of his life there and was the state's governor to boot. So nyaaahhh~ Own it, Texas! :P

Tbh I would've booed him too, it was a completely inappropriate forum to start making anti-war declarations.... if it'd had some relevance to his film, that's one thing, but unlike "Milk," it didn't. Not to mention, he's just plain an annoying dickhead. I saw him speak and college and "annoying" is the only word I can come up with.
