Well, I suppose they were doing what you're supposed to do during a recession slide if you've got the money, buy products that other people have stopped purchasing. The money went out fast and into the hands of manufacturers and stores, like an itty bitty congressional stimulus committee...

It's kind of sick, really, that I'm so overwhelmed by the waste and huge losses of the contracts the government signs that I find it hard to be too offended by this sort of waste, where people actually got what they were laying out government funds for.
