No, it's not the character for "love", which is 愛. If it's supposed to be a character, they might have been trying for 人, person, but got the strokes wrong and so it looks like 入, which if it is would be, um, somewhat unfortunate, since it means "enter."
So I'm gonna assume it's not a character at all. ^^;;
Ohh, OK. I thought it was lambda and not a Chinese character at first when I looked at it, but couldn't figure out why they'd have that on a ring. Now it all makes sense. The more you know!
If so those are totally my favorite rings ever.
Oh and, angry preist mad about church-and-state breaking up a couple hundred years ago, whoohoo.

I swear I've seen it before... it has to have some signifigance since it seems to be their commital rings.
