This was Obama doing his job.. playing politics. The US needs Turkey's alliance. Maybe we'll start calling it genocide officially and recogonize it on the level of the holocaust when the Armenians are willing to take it to court and prove it.

That's something I came across more than once while researching the Holocaust this year in depth. To a degree, sometimes this still feels true, with the genocide even after all the work done after the Holocaust.
It's something Obama recognized in his recent speech. Forgetting these crimes makes it more likely to happen. He's being a bit of a hypocrite when he's not owning up fully towards what happened with the Armenians. He's got to put his money where his mouth is for his talks on acknowledging the past to truly mean all that it can.
