Former Sec. of State Madeleine Albright to be on Craig Ferguson tonight.

Apr 17, 2009 00:44

Just wanted to let everyone know that former Sec. of State Madeleine Albright will be on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight, on CBS.  His show is just now coming on for the East coast.

She might have some interesting comments in light of the torture memos that were released today.

Can we do these sorts of posts? If not, I'll soon find out.  :) I figured I'd post it because it may not end up on YouTube so this might be political junkies only chance to catch it.

My Summary:

She gave a copy of her latest book, 'Memos to the President' to Obama with the inscription 'With the audacity of hope that you find this book useful.'

She's shocked and dismayed at the talk of Texas seceding.

She wears pins that reflect her mood.  This tradition was born when she wore a pin with a snake on it to the UN hearings on Saddam Hussein after he called her a snake.  Her next book will be called 'Read My Pin.'

She fully supports Obama, and believes he has drastically changed the world's perception of the US for the better.  She said with his election, the world's opinion changed.  She also believes that the Bush foreign policy was 'very calamitous.'  She is 'deeply troubled by the world's perception that we were torturing people.'

She thinks the national community is very excited by Pres. Obama, but she says that we have a lot of work to do.

Craig and Madeleine had a long discussion about how they, as naturalized citizens of the US, view the talk of Texas seceding as disturbing and troubling.  They had a long discussion about how naturalized citizens view the US, as compared to natural-born citizens.

She fully approves of the Obama Admin's changes on Cuban policy.

Despite rumors, she will not be serving as Ambassador to France.

When Craig asked her if Bill Clinton had ever hit on her, she looked away, laughed and didn't say anything.  Craig laughed and said, 'Oh so he did?'  and she didn't say anything to the contrary.  lol

She said that Joe Bide is incredibly smart and laughed without saying anything to the contrary at the idea of him being the source of gaffes.

The End.

Sadly, no mention of the torture memos.  But it was a great interview!  My only complaint is that I wish Craig had cut the current actress interview and given Madeleine the full hour.
