In her April 1 column, Ann Coulter fell for a fake April Fools' Day article by Car and Driver magazine that claimed that President Obama has ordered General Motors and Chrysler to cease their participation in NASCAR because it is an "unnecessary expenditure." If Obama can tell GM and Chrysler that their participation in NASCAR is an "unnecessary expenditure," isn't having public schools force students to follow Muslim rituals, recite Islamic prayers and plan "jihads" also an "unnecessary expenditure"? Are all those school condom purchases considered "necessary expenditures"?

lolwut? No, seriously. Even if Obama really had done that, what the hell is she talking about?

She's just allergic to telling the truth.

I have no idea what she's talking about unless she's referring to some university that put foot washing stations in some areas because they had a lot of Muslim employees and students who wanted to pray throughout the day. There was a huge fuss about that, but it was a state university, not a federal decision, and no one was forced to do anything.

(I don't get the fuss. In places I've worked, we've tried to find locations for Muslim workers to pray in privacy whenever we could. It wasn't something we had to do, but I didn't see it any differently from, say, providing a lactation room. What's wrong with showing your employees you value them? Each action taken doesn't have to benefit every employee.)
