GUESS WHO'S BACK? BACK AGAIN?!

Did anyone post Howard Dean's message to DailyKos last week? I don't see it but to be cautious I'm posting this article instead...

Howard Dean’s Return to DFA Can Spark National ActivismAfter presiding over the Democratic Party’s most successful national grassroots mobilizing campaign since the New Deal, Howard Dean is returning to Democracy for ( Read more... )

I think it was because people were so upset about Howard Dean not being chosen for some health-oriented cabinet position.

"The White House knows Dean indicated he was not interested last December, so it seems odd that they are floating his name," said one ally of the former Vermont Governor. "I question the timing given that they have been getting criticism for how he's been treated."

much as I was JIZZING! IN! MY PANTS! at the time, they might be right on this.

FTW.

If Dean doesn't get SG, we'll still be blessed - maybe even more - because we'll FINALLY have high profile Democrats pushing Obama & congress from the left!!! & even if the higher ups are showing less interest in making sure we put every state in play for 2010 (cough cough Napolitano and Sebelius) we'll have dedicated organizations continuing the 50 State Strategy as best they can.

RESILIENT DEAN IS RESILIENT!

I'm going to be gushing here, but Howard Dean is amazing. There's no doubt he wanted a position in the administration, but barely is the HHS position strung along and then denied and he's already coming back to his people and also committing himself to other part time jobs. And his track record shows how good he is at shirking moral compromises and restructuring activism to give a true voice to progressives at every level and, oh, getting things done. He is going to be kicking activist ass to get things done for health care in this country.

In the ~fantasy drama llama~ administration, Rahm is totally going to kick himself for pushing Dean out where he can be more of an annoyance than chained inside. POOR BB.

I honestly think he could be far more effective working for DFA than as SG. I mean, how many members of congress, especially the newly elected ones, owe him a favor? With DFA, he is unrestrained, even more unrestrained than he was as DNC chair IMO, and that's a good thing.
