Almost more than anything this is what gets me about the war, and most specifically those who defend it. So killing Iraqis isn't important, the cost isn't important, how about our own kids coming home having seen and participated in this sort of thing? How can you go back to functioning normally with the clear memory of shit beating an old man because he flinched, thinking he was about to die?

Oddly enough that's not usually the viewpoint espoused by supporters of the war. There tends to be a heavy dose of justification. I'm curious what that would be.

It happens all the time, really, although I don't know why there are so many Army guys at Gitmo.... My dad was in the Army. Our neighbors were Air Force when we lived in Georgia. My dad attended the Naval Postgraduate School and so we lived in Navy housing. *shrug* I dunno...

the us isn't the only country that doesn't respect ICC's jurisdiction, and i can't be too upset about that.

the problem is that the us doesn't want to look and see what it's doing. or, at least, DIDN'T want to look and see.
