He seems not to understand that Rachel Maddow is a news commentator who happens to be a lesbian, not a LESBIAN!news commentator. Usually I like Michelangelo Signorile, but he was more than a bit of a dick in this interview.

Yeah. He and Rachel are much different. His show is very specifically geared towards gay issues. Hers isn't.
