I would slightly adjust one sentence like this:
"the biggest problem with neo-conservatives and right-leaning socially-conservative reactionaries is that the world/America changes, while they do not."
Just because a remarkably high number of traditional, fiscal conservatives employed more logic-based rationales when it came to making the case for an Obama presidency, and weren't at all caught up in the hysteria-based rabble rounding (i.e., Seekrit Muslim/Scary Reverend/Manchurian Terrorist/Antichrist/Socialist Nazi-gate™).
As I see it, neo-con radio DJs were never representatives of American conservatism, but rather of pockets of American political demagoguery driven by willful ignorance. Actual American conservatism, I'd argue, is still in tact.
