But of course they'll reform their party. I'm betting that they back away from pandering to the evangelical vote and start heading back towards focusing on economic issues and small government.

This is how political parties work in America. They reach points like this and then change. The Democratic party of today is not the Democratic party of 60 years ago. So the Republicans will change and gain more members and then in 10 or 15 years, they'll start winning elections again once people see that Democrats can't provide a happy utopia either. It's cyclical.
