I don't think it's so much "Why do Mormons keep fucking up?" as it is they've always been fucking up under the radar, and the whole Prop 8 fiasco has put attention on them and all the dirty secrets are coming out.

Agreed. Out here in the West, we deal with them all the time. It's just that the rest of the country is finally getting to see more of their crazy.

Ob. Disclaimer: There are a ton of individual Mormons who are pretty cool. It's their church's history and leadership that give me the heebie jeebies.
