I just wanted to say this was a very interesting post, OP.

What's happening in Italy is awful.

Another aspect of the horror of what is happening to African migrants in Italy(3), is that so many are being subjected to human trafficking. Some for sex (1) and others for forced labor(2). One group which is heavily involved in this slavery is the Italian mafia.

While this has been documented, there hasn't been much (or any, really) outcry to do something about this.
