Can't speak for all of us but this Floridian welcomes Puerto Ricans with open arms. <3 It's the least we can do when orange bro doesn't seem to realize they're citizens.

That article about older people was so sad.

This is awful. This is why Puerto Rico needs Statehood. Rachel Maddow reported earlier that federal relief staff members used triage tents to have a "spa day," where they brought Puerto Ricans in to give them manicures and pedicures while they were supposed to be working. The house approved a bill today to provide funding but it'll be weeks until the senate votes on it - how long until they actually see those funds?

Honestly, Trump has somehow managed to be worse than I thought he'd be. I hate waking up every morning dreading what I'll find when I check Twitter.

He's pretty much exactly as awful as I expected. The only thing that can save us is the Cabinet invoking the 25th amendment. Congress surely won't impeach because the Republicans there are only concerned about keeping their jobs by appealing to Trump voters and right-wing funders. And I don't hold more than a grain of hope that there are enough people in the Cabinet to put country over party to do it.

I find myself hoping for an unfortunate food poisoning to occur. Perhaps some questionable oysters. Or cherries with cream. Food handling by a chef with a staph infection. Even if it just took him out of the picture for a few days, it would be a relief.

Personally, I hope it's the well-done steaks with ketchup that do it, because that is an affront to the human palate to be that fucking uncivilized.

I expected him to be mega-awful, but I could not have predicted a fraction of all the specific ways he has been awful, or all the different things he finds to be awful about. Not in a million years. My mind just doesn't work that way. I could literally write a fucking book listing all the horrible things he's done that took me by surptise--in only 9 fucking months in office. If he actually lasts the full 4 years, I'll probably be able to fill a shelf full of books. Because he's just that horrible.* I have expected the worst always, without exceptions, but I have been take by surprise again and again by the nature  and extent of his worst.

*I absolutely refuse to entertain the possibility of a second term, because I find the idea both completely intolerable and highly unlikely. I know it's a theoretical possibility, but at this point, it's only theoretical, so it can go fuck itself afaic. Even IF he doesn't get impeached by 2020 and runs again, if all those of us who see him for what he is can just 1) pull togerther for a change and 2 ( ... )
