It's been an interesting week, what with the big GOP FAIL on repealing the ACA. I joined a group of other locals at a protest rally outside our congressman's office. I don't think he (Peter Roskam) ever changed his stance on the bill (he was like rah rah gung ho in favor of it), but it was great fun nonetheless. I have found out that I'm one of those weird people who actually enjoys marching around with a sign, lol. Or at least I enjoy being in a crowd of people marching around with signs in support of an issue I believe in--it's an incredible high.
The best part was when people driving by would honk their horns and even do a thumbs up out their car window to indicate their support. So exciting. I really feel like we had an impact, maybe not on his potential vote, but on other people who were worried about the possibility of losing Obamacare.
