Yes, that's my understanding. And actually, that's what the theater owner alluded to in her FB message, that there was going to be a "homosexual character" in the movie.

I think what gets me more than anything else is something else she said in her post: "When companies continually force their views on us we need to take a stand." Excuse me? A filmmaker decides to acknowledge that gay people actually, you know, exist by putting ONE gay character in a movie, and that constitutes "forcing their views" on her? Does she actually expect the entire rest of the world to pretend queer people don't exist just because HER religious beliefs say that sex acts between people of the same sex are a no-no? Give me a break!

This stupid woman needs to get it through her head that queer people do exist, and she has no right to expect them to go back in the closet and pretend they don't exist just to make people like her happy. No one is trying to "force" anything on her by acknowledging this, and no one is telling her she has to change her antiquated beliefs (however much it might behoove her to do so). Although, of course, it's just fine for her to "force" her beliefs on the rest of the world by insisting that movies not acknowledge the existence of people whose sex lives she does not approve of. DOUBLE STANDARD MUCH?

I need to stop thinking about this before my head explodes from trying to process the sheer absurdity of it.

Agreed. That's why I didn't even touch on that bit in my post and decided to just focus on the 'subplot' bit instead XD
