Exclusive: Heads of parliament’s main political parties issue unprecedented call opposing Ted Malloch, who likened his goal to ‘bringing down the Soviet Union’
The way he keeps alienating more and more people is one of the things that is giving me hope right now. If he keeps it up, there will be no one left on his side except his paid ass kissers (I'm loooing at you, Kellyanne Conway) and a few REALLY diehard supporters.
I have a lot of fun imagining the temper tantrums that ensue every time someone says, in effect, "Fuck you, Trumplestiltskin." Because you know that's what's happening. He needs a constant narcissistic supply of "You're the greatest, Donnie!" and not getting that is intolerable to him. That's why he freaked out the way he did over his inauguration crowd not being THE biggest EVER.
His desperate need for constant lavish praise and approval could turn out to be his Achilles heel, imo. At least I hope so.
That would be awesome, wouldn't it? I have some slight hope for the Senate, since the proportions are so close, but the House is just a mess right now. :-\
Since Trump was elected I've been waiting for things to really blow-up between him and the EU. He has said some very strong anti-EU stuff, he supported Brexit, keeps making noises about ending NATO and has appointed this man as ambassador. It will not go well, not at all. I expect Junker, who can be very opinionated, to really speak out.
And this is what Trump supporters just don't understand; they're so concerned with "liberal tears", and sticking it to minorities and sjw etc. they're not see the damage they've done to their country on the international stage. The EU is currently fast tracking a trade deal with Mexico and pushing through plans for an EU defence force. Trumpsters have no understanding of diplomacy, soft power, good faith etc. They're stupidly applauding Trump's plan to renege on the refugee deal with Australia. They only see America's standing and power in terms of its military strength.
I didn't start to think critically about how that "rah rah America" stuff affects people until I was an adult. When I was a kid I thought "oh, people from every country think their country is the best, no big deal." When I started talking to people from other countries who were like "kinda sounds like propaganda" I thought "oh, this is kind of bad"
I think Trump must be setting records with how quickly he's getting people all around the world to loathe him. That takes skill! /sarcasm

I guess that's what happens when you've been swallowing "the U.S. is the greatest no matter what" your whole life.

Especially since the US is no longer the world's only superpower...

I always thought it was a bit like learning to admit when we're wrong, personally, since we do identify with wherever we come from. (Just my 0.02$)

At some point not cooperating at all with the rest of the world will hurt the U.S. (particularly where the U.S. economy is concerned).
