The suit, brought by Colorado electors Polly Baca and Robert Nemanich, is intended to overturn a state law that forces them to support the statewide popular vote winner when the Electoral College convenes to pick the president on Dec. 19
I mean, it's sorta dicta, but SCOTUS has already admitted that all such laws are unconstitutional, considering the electors purpose was subvert majority stupidity. So....

Baca and Nemanich are leaders in a group called “Hamilton Electors” that is working to convince dozens of Republican electors around the country to unite behind a mainstream GOP alternative to Trump
Again, this is useless Rep signifying. All the praise for "standing up" to Donald with none of the actual work of removing Donald. No thanks.

Do you think there is any path to removing Trump?

Sure get HRC to 270. Anything other than that, including switch votes from Trump to some other GOP, is useless grandstanding, unless they know they have enough Rep in the House, which lol.

I'm not sure how that would happen, though. No matter how much some of these electors probably hate Trump, they won't vote for a democrat instead.

At this rate even if Garbage Orange Peel is inaugurated, his own party will probably try to impeach him in favor of putting Pants into power. But I don't see any likely scenario of hrc coming into office

I'm getting the sense that congressional republicans are jumping at opportunities to at least make a credible threat of impeachment. They can either make him heel, or get rid of him and have their boy Pence. So, whatever happens with this investigation they'll make sure it's not completed until after the inauguration.

And the rest of us lose either way. :-(

Honestly, as much as I LOATHE Mike Pence, and know he'd be a disaster for domestic issues... I'd actually prefer him to Mango Mussolini, because the latter is far more likely to blow up the entire world. I'd rather we keep the shitstorm contained to our own country instead of the international hot mess that's already brewing.

No, as a matter of fact, we can't. We're not going to just acquiesce to this travesty; we're going to fight every single battle to the bitter end, regardless of how little chance there may be of winning. We're going to keep all our legislators' phones ringing, every damn day, to make it inescapably clear that We the People do not look to be ruled by a sociopathic Russian puppet-king.

People who have better things to do are, of course, perfectly at liberty to go do them.

*sigh* I understand what you're saying and I completely agree. I only said that because this election has completely left me a pessimist. I don't have any hope for the electoral college and I'm just ready to get the next four years over with. Reading/hearing the coverage on him everyday has made me exhausted. That's all I meant.

It's definitely fatiguing. At some point you feel so hopeless that you just want it all to be over with.
