So since most of these electors were going to vote for HRC anyway, I assume this is just to accelerate this constitutional crisis by holding off the 19th vote? In which case, good for them!

Shout out to that elector from TX though.

Also, is Christine Pelosi related to Nancy Pelosi because....

The point of an elector not being a public official was to avoid influence by parties, but okay, I guess this is where we're at now.

Well, this is an interesting development! And they're absolutely right that electors need to know all those things they mentioned before casting their votes. Especially the ones who don't think they need to know, or worse, just don't want to know because party loyalty trumps everything else for them (and yes, that pun was most certainly intended).

Things are getting more interesting every day, I must say. Even if we still end up with the tangerine twit in the White House, I think he may find his sailing to be less smooth and the waters choppier than he expected. I nean, even the turtle manMitch McConnell is feeling enough pressure to actually do something, which tells me his phone must be ringing off the wall with calls from pissed off constituents right now

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm stocking up on popcorn. With extra butter and a side of schadenfreude pie.

I'm leery of satan's favorite turtle getting involved because I feel like he's only supporting an investigation in order to cover up his own involvement in this debacle (his wife getting a job in Trump's cabinet is rather suspicious now), and maybe more, and not out of any outrage at the idea a foreign power meddled in our election.

I hear what you're saying, but I like that this, added to all the other investigations being launched, electors revolting, etc. is helping to put Trump in an increasingly difficult situation. I see McConnell's getting involved as just one more of many signs that shit is getting real for that carrot-colored creep, which is fine by me, whether he still ends up in the White House or not.

Sure, Turtley McTurtleson will try to cover up his involvement, but to me that is a minor detail compared to the presidential pickle we're in.

i was saying this morning that it's a strange strange world we live in where the plot of Dr. McNinja and a Danish kickboxing 80s action hero now being the president makes more sense than the current Presidential mess

i will say it again - it's a strange strange world we live in where a Danish kickboxing 80s action hero now being the president makes more sense than the current Presidential mess

So true. The books that will be written about 2016 are going to sound like science fiction!

These fucking guys. Like, for real. Let's protest Donald Trump by having a bunch of us who by convention would vote for someone different anyway, vote for someone different. Yeah, that'll show him! Pff. The only guy worth a shit in this "protest" is Chris Suprun. And Art Sisneros, sort of. All these blue state motherfuckers are showing their asses right now.

How does this constitute "blue state motherfuckers ... showing their asses"?

Seriously, I find that to be a very odd statement!

So far all the "faithless electors" - except for Chris Suprun - are from blue states. I.e. states that in a conventional election would have voted for Hillary anyway. But they are planning to cast their votes for Kasich, apparently as some kind of a hokey protest against Trump. A number of them are the same people who signed this letter. I'm sorry but I don't think any of these guys are really helping when 9 of the 10 signatories would actually increase Trump's margin of victory by boycotting the whole process. Wake me up when red state electors give a shit.

Well (just to play devil's advocate for a moment), a lot of people feel that because of Trump's utter lack of competence, nonexistent ethics, and ludicrously obvious conflicts of interest (just to name 3 items on a very long list), putting ANYBODY, even an ass like Kasich, in the White House would be preferable. I HATE the thought of Kasich being president, but I do think he'd be a lot less likely to start WWIII than Drumpf. Kasich's a douche, but he's an adult douche, whereas Drumpf is a five year old orange ass monkey who doesn't belong anywhere NEAR those nuclear codes ( ... )
