He has a rather skewed perception of how he looks to women. Now, I'm watching this drama from abroad and usually discuss new happenings when I have my mother (who's just three years older than Trump, how bizarre) on the phone. And apart from the obvious disgust when I read her statements in English that only make it into our media translated and truncated, yesterday she went on about how creepy his mouth and eyes were, and then came out with: "I always have to keep looking at his hair because I can't figure out where it comes from! Normally you can see from which side a bald man combs it over, but his just seems to come from nowhere!"
Don't get me wrong, we don't habitually mock people for their looks. Some male celebrities here have gotten actual hair transplants and talk about it openly, and neither of us think that mock-worthy. It's just that Trump seems to think he comes off as a vigorous, healthy man who's at most middle-aged, while in reality he looks absolutely artificial and weird compared to men like my father who's two years older than him just simply aging (though very proud of having a full head of natural hair, I have to admit).
With Trump, thinking he can look like forty seems all to be part of whatever "big gorilla boss" thing he has going on.
