The article I posted mentioned his human rights abuses only in two sentences and they certainly warrant their own article, so thanks for adding these links!

I still can't believe some of the stuff I read about this guy with regards to torture (trigger warnings for torture apply to the link). (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2003/may/26/nickpatonwalsh)

It's truly shocking that people like this can be considered 'western allies', IMO.

PS: It's annoying that I can't seem to code a cut or anything in the comments which doesn't let me put triggering stuff under a cut... Argh! (In other words I just tried and realized this. Ugh.)
